Academic events, such as conferences, graduation ceremonies, and end-of-year presentations, can be challenging. After all, with your institution's reputation on the line, it's crucial you host an event that is engaging, dynamic, and, perhaps more importantly - runs without a hitch.
At DXM, we have years of experience when it comes to supporting academic institutions in the planning and executing of events - whether they take place online or in person.
Here are just a few of the exciting events we’ve worked on!
Event: University Mental Health Day (University of Greenwich)
In March 2023, we helped the University of Greenwich with their hybrid event in celebration of University Mental Health Day. As part of our hybrid event production services, we supported the team when it came to:
Engaging in-person and remote audiences.
Setting up and managing the necessary Streaming and Event Technology.
Liaising with internal stakeholders, staff, and student networks, our team produced the Event Agenda (and monitored) event attendance
Coordinating updates on the Event Webpage on the Portal
Confirming and communicating with keynote speakers
This was not the first time we have worked with the University of Greenwich on University Mental Health Day. In 2021, we planned a 2-day event for the occasion, and in 2022, we worked on a week-long celebration.
Testimonial:
“Nelita and Kostia from DXM have supported the university with the delivery of our University Mental Health Day events, demonstrating high levels of professionalism and impeccable project management skills. We've particularly valued their ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders at different levels across the organisation to create an exciting, diverse, and inclusive agenda in line with our strategic aims. They've become trusted partners of the university who we look forward to working with on future projects.” Charlie Allen, Learning and Development Consultant, University of Greenwich
Event: Social Work Teaching Partnership (University of Greenwich)
In 2022, we helped the team at the University of Greenwich host an in-person event. The “Social Work and Teaching Partnership” was a resounding success and marked the first time the attendees had met in person since before the pandemic.
We supported the team when it came to:
Campus Ops & Logistics for internal stakeholders, AV team, and remote speakers.
Event Registration
Catering coordination
Speaker briefing & joining instructions
Event Branding
Workshop facilitation

Event: PERFECTED - Online event (University of East Anglia)
In 2021, we were honoured to work with the University of East Anglia and the National Institute for Health Research on their PERFECTED online event. PERFECTED is a funded applied research program designed around improving hospital care for patients with dementia.
We supported the team when it came to:
Event Online Platform set-up & registration
Speaker briefing & management
Event rehearsals
Online event management & Live Streaming
Audience Engagement
Post-event reporting
We also provided them with ‘How to Join’ manuals for attendees (and speakers) that may be unfamiliar with online events, along with advice on comms plans and follow-up emails to measure the event's success.

“The DXM team are exceptional in their attention to detail and ensuring the clients' needs and requests are accommodated. The quality of the video and sound for online events is amazing! Support is first class, and my experience of working with the DXM team is that they are always willing to 'go the extra mile' for the client.
Professional, friendly, flexible, and supportive were the key qualities I found to be at the core of their approach to project management. DXM proved a great team to work in partnership with to deliver an impressive virtual event.” Dr. Fiona Scheibl, Senior Research Associate, University of East Anglia
Event: Social Work Partnership Day Conference (University of Greenwich)
In 2021, we worked with the University of Greenwich to organise their annual Social Work Conference.
While this was initially intended to be an in-person event, COVID-19 restrictions meant it had to be hosted digitally. As such, we worked hard to ensure that the conference would remain engaging, thought-provoking, and safe.
We supported the team when it came to:
Event Registration
Speaker briefing & management
Event rehearsals
Online event set-up & Live Delivery

“Thank you to the great team of DXM for helping to put together a successful event for our participants. Your attention to detail and ability to adapt and deliver was second to none. We had fantastic feedback from delegates about a very well-organised day.”
Dr Panagiotis Pentaris, Associate Professor of Social Work & Thanatology, School of Human Sciences, University of Greenwich
Event: Postgraduate Research Degree Student Conference (Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine)
Working on the annual PGR Degree Conference with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine was a unique challenge. As students’ academic careers were hinged around their successful presentations, we wanted to make sure it ran as seamlessly as possible for all involved. The university also had specific standards in mind regarding the structure of the event that could not be altered.
We supported the team when it came to:
Setting up a dedicated and specialised Online Event Platform
Manage and Collate student recordings
Uploading student posters onto ‘Virtual’ booths
Producing a live broadcast for 200 pax
Managing students & staff who had to connect from their location and present live
Audience engagement

“DXM were able to support us to deliver a high-quality virtual event at very short notice. Before contacting DXM, we were a little apprehensive as to what we could achieve given our inexperience with virtual events, however, the team at DXM’s knowledge, expertise, and immediate understanding of our vision for our conference from the outset provided us with much-needed assurance. The team was incredibly personable and professional and offered high-level support”
Richard Madden, Postgraduate Research Team Manager, LSTM
